Its 1,000-pound capacity outlasts heavy squats, handles big bench presses and withstands chin-ups with 8 kids hanging onto your waist. The uprights measure true 3" x 3" which is EXACTLY 76.2mm x 76.2mm, instead of the typical 75mm x 75mm uprights of other brands' imported racks.
By matching the same tubing specs as many of our American competitors, you can mix and match attachments freely without needing to stick to one brand - hello, open ecosystem! Built with modular components, so you can expand it later into a larger Hydra rack to accommodate a new home gym space or team workouts with your swolemate. Compatible with all Hydra rack attachments, like the hyper-versatile Hydra Lat Pulldown (but requires a Rear Base Stabilizer & upper crossmember).
IMPORTANT: The Hydra series of power racks are TRUE 3" x 3" tubing with 5/8" holes, so only Hydra attachments & non-B.o.S. attachments made precisely for 76.2mm x 76.2mm uprights with 1" holes will fit.

My review reflects both the Hydra Half Rack, as well as my over-all BoS experience being a 1st time buyer.
Ordering experience: (1/5) There is a lot of room for improvement here. The over-all UX of the BoS website is very poor. I found the website to be very slow due to what seems to be a lot of background JavaScript. Add something to cart, and wait several seconds for that item to show up. Want to add a coupon from the cart page? Nope! This wouldn't be a challenge for someone who knows what they want, however this being my first gym rack, I spent a considerable amount of time going back-and-forth, configuring multiple racks, options and packages to find the best fit for my needs, AND the best deal. My suggestion is to implement a config wizard that would help noobies like myself find the best package based on their needs and budget. I ended up bundling the bar with the rack to save on the bar, and pricing out the plate set separately to get the best over-all price. Furthermore, the layout of the website is also less than ideal. You have to do a lot of up and down scrolling to get key information on your products. Fonts are too large in certain areas, paired with unnecessary graphics and visual elements that just clutter the layout. Over-all the website was rather frustrating to use and almost drove me to a competitor.
Shipping/delivery: (3.5/5) Disappointingly, the rack took longer to ship than advertised. I wouldn't mind, as long as the delays were communicated clearly,…

The Hydra hall rack is a work of art; the build quality is second to none; the accessories that you can put on this rack make it a total workout unit that functions perfectly. The accessories I chose were sliding lever arms, lat pull down attachment, multi grip chin up bar with globe grips (awesome), dip stand (awesome), sliding j-hooks, I highly recommend this rack and the accessories that I have listed.

I have to say the Hydra Half Rack is a work of art; top quality and functions very well; I purchased the lever arms with my rack and love them, great design. I also purchased the globe chin up bar which has so many gripping options. This is a great piece of equipment and the available attachments make it even better, I highly recommend the Hydra Half Rack.
