Monolift Rack Attachment

I am thoroughly impressed with this product. You can save a lot of energy and potential shoulder issues by using these for pressing motions. They looks great, they function great, and they aren’t so huge that they are difficult to work around. I have a small Hydra half rack and working around them hasn’t been an issue at all, so they usually are stored on the front uprights. I’m getting plenty of use out of them on shoulder day, chest day, and squat day. The built in rollers are such a nice touch for these.

How I rate them for the big movements:

Squatting - good

Shoulder pressing - very good

Chest pressing - excellent

Crazy good value here with these. And they accommodate axle bars without issue!

It does monolift things in a smaller footprint than others, so if you need that, it does it.

The UHMW on the Hydra monolifts offers poor protection as it doesn’t extend out past the body far enough once retracted. You will still find metal plenty of times because the UHMW doesn’t have enough depth if you have any angle when landing. This same critique extends to the fronts of the cups to a lesser degree as well. This could have been a better product for no real additional cost.

I purchased the Hydra Monolift for my Titan X-3 because I believe it is a smaller unit than the Titan Monolift. I like the spring retractable design too, instead of the large weights on top sliding forward when the barbell bar is removed. The safety hitch pins do not line up perfectly so i purchased a 1/2" magnetic hitch pin to insert behind the rack and extend through the monolift. Since the Titan rack is not a true 3" rack, i inserted two washers and a small piece of metal that I cut to insert between the UHMW Plastic protector and the back support bracket of the Monolift. I attached photos showing everything. The monolift holds the bar 6.5" away from the rack with no weights on the bar and extends up to 10" away from the rack when the bar is loaded with weights. I purchased this for bench pressing alone. I am 58 and do not have a person in the house who could safely spot me the loaded bar. I'm loving the monolift while benching, athough it did take an adjustment from using J Hooks. Thanks Bells of Steel! I am happy with my purchase so far. Now what I want is a PDF copy of the drections that show the parts I would need to replace when they wear out. The two size rollers and the springs. Also some directions for safely removing and replacing the springs would be very helpful. I do not need a safety accident at home.
