100% RAW Competition Curl Bar

I’ve always taken barbell curls seriously, not as a little accessory lift, so I’ve been picky about what I use. After years of heavy work with a 2 inch axle and then a regular Olympic bar, my forearms started giving me trouble. I tried a cheap EZ curl bar and it just felt awkward and unsatisfying. Curling, which used to be one of my favorite movements, stopped being fun.

Then I found the Bells of Steel Competition Curl Bar. I loved the look of it, did a bit of research, and figured if they use it in strict curl competitions, it has to be legit. I was still worried about the knurling and angles, but once I used it, all the doubts disappeared.

The knurling is sharp but somehow very comfortable. It grips well with a bit of chalk and doesn’t tear up my hands. Both the wide and close grip positions feel natural, hit the biceps hard, and don’t bother my forearms at all. The slight extra thickness of the bar feels great too. I run it out of safety stands, so the fact that it is not rackable is a non-issue.

Honestly, I have zero complaints. It is probably my favorite bar right now. Every time I see it, I want to curl.

This thing is so pretty your eyes are drawn to it the moment you look at the room. Bright red and gold just POPS! It's super curvy and just a work of art to behold.

The bearing sleeves are fantastic at reducing strain in the wrists. The curves are so pronounced that the mid ROM flip is so easy I think I'll have a new 1rm right out the door! See BOS video explaining the technique.

5 stars, really good pricing and a no brainer for your home gym. I sold a different brand that wasn't curvy enough, this thing is well thought out.
