I adore these safeties. I have tried the most common style of rack safeties over the years (half safeties, pin and pipe, straps, etc.) on my Rogue Monster Lite rack, and these are by far my favorite. They easily switch between positions in the rack and are rock solid. I appreciate that Bells of Steel added protective plastic to all parts of the safeties that touch the rack as well. My only wish is that Bells of Steel offered them in 24” because that is my preferred rack depth, but I was willing to increase my rack depth to 30” to try them out since I already had the necessary crossmembers.
An obvious upgrade over pin and pipe safeties, but I would recommend anyone using strap safeties to consider giving these a chance and see if they are in line with your gym needs.

The safeties are easy to move for different lifts , the only real issue is the glossy finish UHMW is almost like silly putty when a bar makes contact with it. This doesn’t bother me that much because racks are meant to be rouged up due to lifting but on the other hand if there was just a non gloss finish don’t think it absorb the knurling as much.

I like the convenience of using these flip down safeties over the pin/pipe safeties that my rack came with. These come with hitch pins to keep them in place and have UHMW protection on top to protect the bar and on the portions that wrap around the uprights to protect the uprights from getting scratched. Also these being true 3x3 x 5/8, they work perfectly with my Rogue monster lite RML-390 rack.

Been using the flip down safeties for a 2 months, I have both the 43" flip down and strap safety. But I used the flip downs a lot more, if I had to do it again, I would of just gotten the flip down safeties and not the straps. So far I haven't had to drop the weight from a squat, but I have done rack pulls on them once every other week. The flip down safeties are great for rack pulls or bar shoulder shrugs. If you do drop the weight from a squat, you're going to be confident you can dump and not get injured.
These are a tight fit...... after a while it may get easier. But as of now, moving them twice a week, it can be a slight pain to move around.
The only grip I have, is that when the bar roles it hit the rack during rack pulls (my ground is uneven). I wish they had bracket with UHMW, like the spotter arms have. If they come out with a version 2 with the mods, I would definitely get them. "Please do not do what ROGUE did with 90 degree angle brackets on the ends, it makes the space unusable and dents the bar if you drop on top on them". The bar will bounce or dance if you drop it from a foot.
overall 100% recommend, these functions very much like the REP's flip down.
