Kettlebell Wrap: Know Your Weight and Protect Your Floors

Kettlebell Wrap: Know Your Weight and Protect Your Floors

An adjustable kettlebell gives you a whole range of weights in one bell. There's just one catch: once the plates are inside, you can't see how heavy it is.

The Kettlebell Wrap fixes that, and it handles two other jobs while it's at it. Here's what it does, which bells it fits, and how to set it up.

What the Kettlebell Wrap Is

Think of it as a fitted polyurethane jacket for your kettlebell. It wraps around the body of the bell and stays there while you train.

The wrap does three things for you:

  • Shows how much weight sits inside an adjustable bell
  • Keeps bare iron off your floor
  • Adds a little cushion where the bell rests against your forearm

It follows the pro-grade competition shape, so every bell in that family takes the same wrap.

Which Kettlebells It Fits

One wrap fits the Adjustable Competition Kettlebell in both the 12-20.5 kg and 12-32 kg versions. It also fits every Competition Kettlebell in the lineup, from 4 kg / 9 lb right up to 48 kg / 106 lb.

Two bells won't take it: the 6-12 kg Adjustable Kettlebell and the 48 kg Poison Pill extension. Check which model you own before you order.

Show the Weight Inside Your Adjustable Bell

Lifters have wanted a way to mark adjustable bells for years. Magnets came up, but swappable numbers on a wrap won out as the simplest fix.

Why does it matter? You can't look inside an adjustable kettlebell. Load it on Monday, come back on Thursday, and you're guessing. Was it 16 or 18?

The wrap ships with a full set of number tiles, 0 through 9. Stick them on the front panel to spell out what's inside. There's no decimal tile, so a trailing 5 stands in for the half. Loaded to 12.5 kg? Put up 1, 2, and 5, and you'll read it as 12.5.

Change the load, swap the tiles. You'll never have to unscrew the bell just to check.

Competition kettlebells already wear a different color for each weight, so the numbers matter less there. Still, unless you've memorized every color, a number you can read at a glance beats guessing from the paint.

Keep Bare Iron Off Your Floors

Your kettlebell is one solid piece of iron. You don't have to drop it to do damage. Just setting it down over and over can scuff hardwood, tile, or laminate.

That matters most when:

  • You train at home without rubber flooring
  • You travel with a bell and work out in a hotel room
  • You share your space and want to keep the peace

The wrap runs thicker at the base, right where the bell lands. The rest stays thinner and more pliable so it hugs the shape. Your floor takes a soft polyurethane hit instead of a hard iron one.

A Little Extra Comfort

This one's a bonus, not the main event. When the bell sits in the rack position, iron presses straight into your forearm. Experienced lifters stop noticing. Newer lifters usually don't.

The wrap puts a thin layer between you and that cold iron. It won't make heavy cleans feel easy, but it takes the edge off and goes a little easier on your wrists. If you're just starting out, you'll feel the difference.

Want more forearm protection on top of that? The BellGuard Kettlebell Wrist Guards pair well with the wrap.

How to Put It On

Setup takes under a minute:

  1. Open the wrap and pull it down over the top of the bell.
  2. Settle it around the body so the thicker section sits at the base.
  3. Close the zipper to lock it in place.
  4. Press your number tiles onto the front panel.

It stays put through swings, cleans, and get-ups. When you want a bare bell again, it comes off in seconds.

Specs and Materials

The whole wrap is polyurethane, so it shrugs off daily use. Separate sewn panels follow the curve of the bell. That shape means it doesn't have to stretch hard to fit, so it won't wear out as fast as a one-piece cover.

A high-quality YKK zipper holds it closed, so you're not fighting a cheap zip every time you take it on or off.

The numbers:

  • Width: 8 1/2" / 216 mm
  • Height: 8" / 203 mm
  • Material thickness: 1/8" / 4 mm
  • Opening: 2 3/4" x 1 15/16" / 70 mm x 50 mm
  • Material: Polyurethane
  • Weight: about 0.2 kg
  • Care: Spot clean or hand wash only. Don't put it in the washing machine.
  • Warranty: 90 days

That 0.2 kg barely changes your load. If you like tiny jumps, though, the wrap gives you a small 0.2 kg bump without touching the plates.

Who Should Grab One

If you own an adjustable competition kettlebell, this is an easy pick. You stop guessing at your load, your floors stay clean, and your forearms get a softer landing.

Competition kettlebell owners get the floor protection and comfort too, plus a clear label for anyone who hasn't learned the color code. Training at home, in a shared space, or on the road? It earns its spot in the bag.

Pair it with an adjustable bell, or grab one for every bell on your rack. Questions about fit? The B.o.S. support team can help you match the wrap to your setup.
