Spotter Arms Rack Attachment

We use the spotter arms outside of the rack to maximize capability with two lifters. But more often I use them to facilitate other exercises like lat pulldown and racks for a sudo-pendilum/hack squat. The spotter arms are a must have safety item but also very useful in creative ways.

The website description of these spotter arms doesn't it justice. The Manticore version is not only build like a tank but it's fully lined with UHMW on the arms and well as the attachment areas. It is not 12 inches in height. It is only 10 inches high, not the most compact on the market but the best available at this price point.

My rack came with safety straps that I love. They've saved my butt several times on squats and bench presses that I couldn't complete. I have no fears of performing these exercises when I'm alone. I bought these to give me the same level of protection on overhead presses and they have already demonstrated the desired level of protection on the overhead press. I now have no worries on exercising alone. At 79, that's about the only way I exercise now.

The arms also come with very high quality magnetic attachment locking pins. These pins are only needed if heavy attachments are added to the sides of the arms. They anchor the arms in place when the attachments are loaded so they don't rotate like the Rep spotter arms do.

The size and placement of the holes for the locking pins is my only minor peeve. I have a non-BOS rack that has true 3 x 3" uprights with 1" holes at 2" spacing. I have lots of 3 x 3" attachments from other manufacturers that fit fine on the rack. Unfortunately, the bottom holes in my spotter arms don't line up perfectly with holes in my rack. The result is that I can only partially seat the pins in the holes. It's a stable fit but…
