It's good but too heavy / almost overbuilt for a cable machine.
The weight makes it awkward to hook on both sides and perform the exercises like bench press or squat.

It’s a good length for use with my 51” wide functional trainer. I wish it weighed a little lighter because 18 pounds with 1 arm while trying to attach to carabiner is kinda hard. It spins, but since it’s metal on metal you may need to add WD-40 to stop loud grinding sound at heavier weights. Finally, the knurling is a little aggressive for me but it’s not painful so it works.
Overall, based on price I would recommend this bar.

Had been looking for a straight bar cable attachment for a while that was decently priced and of high quality. This was WAY better than I could have imagined. It has some weight, but not super heavy by any means - it is straight metal so you should expect it to not be light like the cheap aluminum brands out there. The durability and construction is far better than the other brands I had been looking at who were asking $150+ for their product. I have been doing deadlifts, presses, curls, squats, and more that this bar makes it so much easier to maneuver through. So glad I added this to my attachments and am certain it will be a life-long addition. Thanks for the great build, BOS!

Sounds like your Double Hook Straight Bar is putting in serious work across the board. That solid steel feel without being over the top heavy is exactly what we were going for, and we are pumped it is outperforming those pricey alternatives you were eyeing.

This bar did exactly what I wanted it to. It's big and hand filling, the rotating hooks are silent, and it has held up great for a year or two. The knurling is fantastic to boot. Some other reviews complain about the wight, but I think this fells just like a cut down Olympic bar, so thats a plus for me. This was a fantastic purchase, especially at a really fair price! Honestly I wouldn't change anything about this bar.
